2 Tips to Reduce Digital Transformation Stress

Tip #1: Implement Digital Transformation Stress Techniques

One effective technique that is being used in businesses today to reduce stress in the workplace is Mindfulness Meditation. Many of the world’s most successful business leaders meditate, including Marc Benioff (Saleforce), Arianna Huffington (Huffington Post), Evan Williams (Twitter) and Jeff Weiner (LinkedIn)… to name a few. 

Meditation is a proven technique for reducing stress and anxiety, increasing focus and productivity, sharpening memory, lowering blood pressure, and boosting mental clarity and decision-making. It’s a powerful tool for self-growth.

Here’s a fast and easy way to get started meditating. You can do this anywhere, anytime to instantly relax and de-stress. And the best part is... it only takes one minute of your time!

  • Sit comfortably, relax your shoulders and close your eyes
  • Focus on your breathing. Take slow deep breaths, following your breath in (through your nose) and then following it out (through your mouth)
  • Repeat several times
  • Then breathe naturally (in and out through your nose)
  • If it helps, count each breath up to a count of 10 or say the words "in and out"

Set a timer on your smartphone and meditate for one minute - just take a moment to stop whatever you’re doing and breathe mindfully. Practice this breathing meditation every day (at least one or two times a day) to develop a habit until it becomes a part of your daily routine.

Once you get this habit in place, you can then try meditating for two minutes or five minutes and work your way up to whatever is the most beneficial for you.

Tip #2: Create a Tranquil Office Environment for Mindfulness

Suggest that your office create a tranquil environment for people to practice meditation at their own pace in your workplace to help foster a culture of happier, healthier and more productive employees. 

Salesforce CEO Mark Benioff had meditation rooms installed on every floor in one of his new office buildings in San Francisco. His goal was to make it easy for executives, management teams and employees to meditate which he believed would bring less stress, improved productivity and more innovative ideas.
